Loony Bingo is a Broadway Gaming-owned site with an apparent “loony” theme, by which I mean it is mildly eccentric. I was expecting something more like my Uncle Simon, who drinks pickle juice, wears Bermuda shorts in all weather, and once did unspeakable things to the Christmas turkey. What I got was more like my Aunt Susan, who proudly proclaimed she was “bonkers” because she had evaporated milk in her coffee and not green-top.

But it’s a casino theme, and they have a habit of being half-arsed, so I’ll give them a pass.

Welcome Offer

The promotional image on the Loony Bingo website promises that you can “add £10 and play with £40”. It will even give you 40 free spins. So, what’s the catch?

Well, there are a few, but nothing that you wouldn’t expect.

The minimum deposit is £10, which is standard. Once you deposit £10 or more, your cash will be boosted with 300% in bingo credits. The first downside is the £30 cap, so while 300% sounds like a huge amount, it really only applies to that initial £10.

The wagering requirement for these credits is fixed at 4x, so you’ll have to wager £120 before you can convert them into cash and make a withdrawal.

As for the free spins, they are dished out in two batches of 20, one for use on Fluffy Favourites and the other for Starburst. All winnings accumulated via these spins are subject to a 35x wagering requirement.

There is a £100 winnings cap for the entire bonus and while your winnings can’t be withdrawn during the wagering period, you can withdraw your initial deposit amount at any time.

Loony Bingo Review Summary

The word “loony” comes from “lunatic”, which itself comes from “lunar” and the belief that the phases of the moon caused madness. Why is this fact important? Well, it’s not, but it helps to liven up what is otherwise a generic theme.

That is ultimately my biggest issue with these sites, and many others out there. They look okay, they have great games, and there are usually lots of promotions to collect. But they lack a distinct identity, something that truly makes them stand out from the crowd. Foxy Bingo has one and Wink Bingo has one. Even bet365 has a clear and unique identity, proving that it’s not all about zany themes and amusing mascots.

Loony Bingo is lacking in that department. 

Still, it ticks a lot of boxes, and with those things considered, it’s hard to rate this casino less than 4/5.
