Bingo Paradise Rating

Heart Bingo is operated by the Gamesys Group, the same team behind Rainbow Riches Casino. It’s also a sister site of the award-winning Jackpotjoy, best-remembered for its “Queen of Bingo” adverts featuring the late great Barbara Windsor.

It’s fair to say that Heart Bingo has the pedigree and could be a classic. In this Heart Bingo review, I’ll see if that’s the case.

The Welcome Offer

Heart Bingo offers all new members a bonus of 30 Free Spins or 50 Bingo Tickets. It’s one or the other, and while the option you choose will depend on your personal preferences, I feel like the bingo tickets are a little more worthwhile.

To qualify, you need to deposit and wager at least £10, at which point your bonus will activate.

  • 50 Bingo Tickets: The tickets have a minimum value of £0.50 and a maximum value of £50—it depends on the game’s limits. They can be used on all games except for Session Bingo and Bingo Winners Club.
  • 30 Free Spins: Fixed at a £0.01 coin size with maximum lines. All spins are restricted to the Paper Wins slot.

It’s advertised as a “Spend £10 and get £50” bonus, but that only applies if you select the bingo tickets option and use them at their maximum value.

You need to be a new player to qualify for this bonus and it’s limited to one per household.

I couldn’t access the backend without verifying my identity, so enjoy this generic screenshot of the homepage.

Promotions

Once you’ve signed up, claimed your Welcome Bonus, and met all of those terms, you can sink your teeth into the casino’s other promotions. These are seasonal, so they come and go frequently, but generally, you’ll find a selection of bingo/slot events with guaranteed prizes, jackpots, and more.

For example, when the site celebrated its tenth anniversary, it offered daily prizes to its loyal members. Every day from Jan 1 to Jan 14, 2021, players were invited to reveal a prize and collect £1 or more.

Players can also join the Newbie’s Room. You’ll need to make a deposit of at least £10, but you can play the games completely risk-free, getting some experience and winning some small prizes on the way.

Games and Software Providers

Gamesys casinos always have plenty of great games to choose from and Heart Bingo is no exception. The games are neatly arranged by the following sections:

  • Jackpots: A single spin is all it takes to win 6-figure sums on games like Wonderland, Deal or No Deal, and Tiki Island. Heart Bingo also makes a big deal out of the Paper Wins slot, including it in its Welcome Bonus. At the time of writing, it has a jackpot of over £90,000 and is actually a really fun slot, so it’s worth a spin.
  • Bingo: Win anywhere from £50 to over £20,000 with tickets that cost as little as £0.05. The Festival Time bingo room, for instance, currently has a jackpot of over £10,000 and a buy-in of just £0.10. If you’re lucky enough to make it to the Bingo Winners Club, you can even play for free, scooping real money prizes on the way.
  • Top Slots: Drop by this section to play slots from developers like NetEnt, Scientific Games, IGT, and many others. Games include Rainbow Riches, Starburst, Tiki Totems, Double Bubble, and Celebrity Riches.
  • Instant: Most of the games in this section are virtual scratchcards, including a Deal or No Deal scratchcard that features the Jackpot King progressive jackpot system.
  • Casino: Evolution Gaming’s Crazy Time, Dream Catcher, European Roulette, Lightning Roulette, and Monopoly Live all form part of Heart Bingo’s extensive Live Casino. You don’t have to go live to play table games as this section includes virtual games of Roulette, Blackjack, Keno, Baccarat, and more.
  • Poker: The variety of poker tournaments is modest, to say the least, but you can still play for big prizes and test your mettle in guaranteed tournaments.

Depositing and Withdrawing

In my Rainbow Riches Casino review, I noted that the Terms and Conditions refer to PayPal being available, but when I joined the site, I was only allowed to deposit using debit cards. In the end, I spoke with customer support and they insisted that it would only apply to my first deposit and that all additional deposits could be processed through PayPal.

After noticing the same discrepancy with Heart Bingo, I assumed the same would apply here.

But then customer support told me that PayPal is no longer accepted. At all.

The site hasn’t been fully updated to show this, and it might change in the future, but at the time of writing, only debit cards and Apple Pay are accepted, contrary to what the Ts & Cs might say.

I asked them why and received the following response:

“We have decided to only use one type of payment method now for security reasons.”

I’m not sure what the problem is, but I gamble at a number of UK-licensed casinos and sportsbooks that accept PayPal, so it’s not an industry-wide issue. It also seems to be fairly recent, so it’s probably not related to the credit card gambling ban in April 2020.

Heart Bingo Review Summary

In 2019, Heart Bingo won a WhichBingo award.

I know what you’re thinking…Which? has bingo awards?

It makes a big change from laptops and washing machines—maybe they’re just branching out?

In actual fact, WhichBingo has no connection to the famous consumers’ association. It’s basically a major bingo website that was founded in 2000 and is clearly held in high regard by the sites that it reviews.

There’s no issue there. An award is an award, and while we’re not talking about a nationally recognised consumer brand, it’s still an established and respected website. Heart Bingo actually won two awards. One for “Best Mobile Bingo Site” and another for “Best Chat Team”. (It didn’t win any awards in 2020 and was usurped by Mecca Bingo.)

To be honest, I wouldn’t describe it as “the best” in any area. It’s good…but not great. The aesthetic works on mobile but feels dated on desktop; the games are plentiful, but lack originality, and it could do with having a few more promotions.

It’s not bad, far from it, and I would still recommend checking it out; I just expected a little more from such an experienced brand, and I was a little disappointed as a result.
