The UK has a love-hate relationship with the Sun newspaper. The partisan paper has spent several decades courting controversy, so you can’t really blame those detractors. But despite all of that, and despite the apparent death of the print media industry, it still has a circulation of over 1 million.

The Sun also has a massive readership online and is one of the most recognisable brand names in the United Kingdom. It’s no surprise then, that this brand has been used to launch its own little gambling empire.

Online bingo may seem like an obscure move for this media giant but The Sun has actually been running newspaper bingo games for many years and its online bingo site has been active since 2006. Free Bingo and Newspaper Bingo

The Sun newspaper used to offer free bingo cards, with the winning numbers listed in the paper itself. I couldn’t find much about these numbers as most mentions of “The Sun Bingo” have now been dominated by this online bingo room.

However, I did learn that these numbers have since ended, with the last batch posted in September 2020. They seem to have been very popular until this point, and a lot of players are calling for their return, so maybe we’ll see them again.

Most previous number listings have also displayed a link to Free Bingo and this link is still active for all Sun Bingo members. Sun Bingo accepts deposits of just £5 but you’ll need to bump it up to £10 if you want to collect the Welcome Bonus. You can deposit using Skrill, Neteller, PayPal and debit cards and withdrawals are processed through the same channels. The Welcome Bonus is also only for Debit Cards too.

The minimum amount for a withdrawal is just £5 and you can go as high as £50,000 with most payments (PayPal is the exception and is fixed at just £5.500). Most payments are processed quickly, and while Sun Bingo asks you to allow for up to 14 working days, you’ll probably only need 3 to 5.

Sun Bingo Review Summary

The Sun Bingo combines many great bingo games with a few top slots and several eye-catching promotions. Add some low transaction limits and fast withdrawals to the mix, along with PayPal compatibility, and you have a pretty solid effort all round. It’s easily worthy of its 4/5 score, but it falls short of getting top marks.

If Sun Bingo and Sun Vegas had combined to create one mega gambling destination, with hundreds of slots, stacks of bingo games, and a variety of table games, I wouldn’t have hesitated to give it 5 out of 5. As things stand, it’s a little too small to be placed in the same league as Mecca Bingo.
