I love it when casinos try to do something different. There are too many cookiecutter sites in this business, and it can feel like I’m repeating myself a lot of the time. Vegas Moose definitely tried something new with its free spin promotion that’s tied to a slot tournament and not a game. But I think this bonus would be so much better in combination with other offers, including a traditional free spins welcome bonus or a matched deposit offer.

Add the £1 withdrawal fee, and it ends up being an above-average casino that could have been much better.

Welcome Bonuses

The Vegas Moose welcome bonus is unusual. I have seen it on one other site, but that was a sister site operated by the same company, so it doesn’t count.

It advertises itself as a 100 free spin offer with no wagering requirement. It also notes that this promotion is available every day, with the same 100 free spins on offer.

So, what’s the catch? Well, these are not traditional spins. Instead, they apply to a slot tournament that runs daily. Your success in this tournament is what determines how much you will receive from the bonus, as opposed to your success on each of those 100 free spins. If you don’t finish in the top positions, you’ll get nothing; if you do and you end up winning a prize, those funds won’t be subject to a wagering requirement.

It’s not as impressive as it could be, but it still gives you a reason to keep logging in and collecting those spins. You might get lucky, you might not, but it’s a free promotion that doesn’t require any deposits or wagers and is open to all players.

The Vegas Moose homepage claims that it has over 2,000 games, but the slot page states that it has over 600 slots. It’s highly unlikely that there are 1,400 non-slot games here, so I can only assume the 2,000 statement applies to non-UK players, and we’re left with a more modest selection. That’s usually the case. We don’t seem to get as much choice and variety as other regions.

Six-hundred slots is a good number, though, and the games themselves are also pretty notable. The casino has cherry-picked games from numerous top-tier developers, including Blueprint Gaming, Red Tiger Gaming, NextGen, and Evolution Gaming. There are classics like Rainbow Riches and Bonanza, as well as many newly-released titles.

There’s a live casino, too, and this is where Evolution Gaming struts its stuff. The live dealer developer adds an eclectic mix of live table games and game shows to the site, including Dreamcatcher and Lightning Roulette.

The support team is very helpful on Vegas Moose, with quick and professional responses by email and phone. Dial 02088 155093 between 9 am and 10 pm during the week and 12 noon to 8 pm on the weekend. Bear in mind, however, that the same number is used on a handful of other online casinos, so you might be asked which casino you’re referencing and will also need to provide your email/username.

Deposits and Withdrawals

It’s debatable as to whether the welcome bonus is good or not. Some will like it, others won’t. The issues I have with the withdrawals are a little more cut and dry, though. The site requires a minimum withdrawal of £20, and it charges £1 for all cash outs. It’s not a huge sum, but it shouldn’t be there at all.

It should be noted, though, that UK regulations allow you to withdraw your full balance at any point, even if it’s below the site’s stated minimum. So, you can withdraw £5 if that’s your full balance, but not £15 if you have £16 in your account.
