What is a no deposit bonus?
A no deposit bonus is an incentive that does not require you to make an initial cash deposit in order to receive it.
You normally register for a new account, complete any required verification and then receive the promotional reward automatically or after opting in.

This is one of the most common types of no deposit promotion in the UK.
The operator gives you a set number of free spins to use on a particular slot or selection of slots.

Bonus funds
An operator may occasionally credit a small promotional balance to a new account without requiring a deposit.

A genuine no deposit offer should not require you to fund your account in order to receive the advertised bonus.
That does not mean the promotion is completely unrestricted.
Depending on the offer, you may still need to:

- verify your identity
- register a valid payment method
- use the reward on a particular game
- use it within a specified period
- complete wagering requirements

Value per spin
A promotion offering 20 spins at 10p each provides £2 of promotional play.

What happens to winnings
The most important part is what happens if the spins produce a win.

Wagering requirements on UK bonuses
A wagering requirement tells you how many times bonus funds must be played through before they can become withdrawable.
For example, if £5 of bonus funds are subject to 10x wagering, the wagering requirement would be £50.
UK rules changed significantly in January 2026.
For promotions offered by UK Gambling Commission licensees, operators must not apply a wagering requirement of more than 10x the bonus funds.

What is a maximum conversion limit?
A maximum conversion limit restricts how much promotional value or promotional winnings can ultimately be converted into real funds.
For example, suppose a no deposit promotion has a maximum conversion of £50.
If play using the promotional bonus produces a larger balance, the terms may still restrict the amount that can ultimately be converted to £50.
This is why a no deposit bonus should not be valued simply by looking at its headline amount.
Check both:
Wagering requirement: how much qualifying play is required.
Maximum conversion: how much can ultimately be converted under the promotion’s terms.
Bingo vs casino no deposit bonuses
