White Hat Gaming is one of the biggest operators in the UK online casino industry. It’s the brand that gave us Casilando, Grand Ivy, and a handful of other sites. PlayGrand Casino is the latest addition to this operator’s portfolio, and in the following review, we’ll see how it compares.
Everything starts with the Welcome Bonus, and this is an area where PlayGrand Casino doesn’t disappoint. The First part of the Welcome Offer you can get 30 No Deposit Spins on Book of Dead, and then you can go on to claim the second part of the Welcome Offer which gives you a 100% deposit match up to £100. You will also get 30 Free Spins on the popular Reactoonz slot. This offer is only available to new players over the age of 18 and you must deposit at least £10 to qualify.
All Free Spin winnings and bonus credits are subject to a wagering requirement of 35x and there is a £5 max bet when meeting these requirements. You have 30 days to spend your bonus funds and 10 days to use your spins.
Loyalty bonuses are always a welcome addition, and yet they’re not as common as you’d think. Most casinos are content to just throw Welcome Bonuses at their players, attract lots of new members, and then watch as everyone gets bored, gives up, and goes elsewhere. Thankfully, PlayGrand Casino is not in that category and there is a substantial VIP Program available here.
There are four levels to this program: Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond. You increase your level by depositing and wagering more money, and there are multiple perks and rewards along the way:
- Silver: 24/7 support, Free Spins, cash drops, bonuses, a birthday gift, and your own dedicated account manager.
- Gold: All of the above, plus exclusive tournaments, higher limits, and exclusive gifts.
- Platinum: All of the above, plus a Black Card, which gives you monthly, 6-monthly, and yearly rewards.
- Diamond: All of the above, plus cashback and access to exclusive events.
The only issue with this scheme is that it’s invite-only. You’ll need to be an active player making regular wagers to receive an invite, and the requirements are substantial if you want to move through the levels.
Slots and Table Games
The PlayGrand Casino games room is immense and stocked with all of your favourite slots. I can say that with confidence, as I’m pretty sure it has every game released in the last few years. There are more developers than I care to count and the games cover features such as jackpots, Megaways, Cluster Pays, Amazing Link, and more.
The games are separated into a few basic categories, including New Games, Top Games, Other Games, Table Games, and Live Casino Games. The latter are developed by Evolution Gaming and Pragmatic Play and include titles such as Crazy Time, Blackjack Live, Lightning Roulette, and Monopoly Live.
Evolution is undoubtedly the biggest Live Dealer creator and Pragmatic Play isn’t too far behind. As a result, there are dozens of table games, game shows, and even live slots. These can be played at all hours of the day.
On a personal note, I was very happy to see lots of Blueprint Gaming slots featuring the Jackpot King progressive system. It’s one of my favourite features and it’s not as widely used as it should be. There are also WowPot jackpots and Mega Moolah jackpots.
Away from slots and Live Casino Games, PlayGrand Casino has a selection of Slingo titles, virtual scratch cards, keno, and other interactive titles that don’t really fit into the usual categories.
You won’t be left wanting here when it comes to games.
Depositing and Withdrawing
Many of the negative reviews about PlayGrand Casino revolve around banking options and customer support. Players complain that it takes too long to receive their funds, there are too many issues, and the support staff aren’t as helpful as they could be.
The delayed withdrawals makes sense, as the pending withdrawal period is up to 48 hours, so it could take a couple of days to get your funds.
I spoke with the support staff on several occasions and found them to be nothing but helpful, but that doesn’t mean they are always attentive and professional. Also, I didn’t have any genuine issues, and there’s a difference between hassling them with inane questions and asking them to resolve a serious issue.
So, while I am sure the negative reviews are genuine and these issues are real, they’re not so pronounced that they will impact all players. Generally speaking, most players don’t have an issue with either withdrawals or customer support and the majority won’t even need to get in touch.
Play Grand Casino Review Summary
I often begin these reviews by discussing the theme, layout, and general feel of the casino. None of that is really relevant with PlayGrand Casino. It’s pretty bland, albeit in a mildly elegant way. It doesn’t jump out at you like The Sun Bingo and other colourful sites, but it doesn’t assault your senses, either.
It’s clean and easy on the eye. More importantly, there are no navigation issues and everything is very neatly arranged. You shouldn’t have an issue finding what you’re looking for and it looks great on all platforms.
The Welcome Offer is very, well…welcoming, and the VIP Scheme is substantial. It would have been better if this scheme was open to all players, but let’s be honest, small stake players have little to gain from these programs anyway. The most you can usually hope for is a few Free Spins, as the best rewards are saved for the biggest spenders.
Other things of note here include the varied payment options, mobile support, and huge games room. The main downsides are related to customer support, though I didn’t have any issues personally.
