Queen Vegas

Queen Vegas

3/5Expert Review

The rare casino whose free spins are worth £1 each instead of 10p, let down by an offer page that does not match its own small print.

Queen Vegas is part of the Skill On Net stable, and it is the one I would single out for getting one thing right that almost nobody else does. It is also the one with the plainest design on the platform, a kind of beige calm that I once compared to shea butter moisturiser and cannot now unsee.

The operator is Skill On Net Ltd, registered in Malta under number C50024 at Level 5, Quantum House, 75 Abate Rigord Street, Ta'Xbiex, licensed in Great Britain by the Gambling Commission under account 39326.

Welcome Offer

Here is the thing it gets right. My standing complaint about free spin offers is that the spins are fixed at the lowest value the operator can get away with, usually 10p, while the headline shouts about the count and the small print hides the value. A set of 100 spins sounds generous and is worth a tenner.

This site offers Mega Spins instead, worth £1 each, and the terms on its own site state them like this:

Significant Terms: First deposit only. Game: Spina Colada. Spin value £1. Max Mega Spins 25. WR 10x free spin winnings amount, only slots count. Max bet is 10% (minimum £0.10) of the free spin winnings amount or £5, whichever is lower.

Read as 1 spin for every £1 deposited up to 25, a £10 deposit gets 10 Mega Spins and £25 gets the full set, which is £25 of stake rather than £2.50. For anyone who prefers one meaningful spin to ten trivial ones, that is a better offer than its size suggests. The wagering is 10x on the spin winnings, which is the legal maximum here and touches only what the spins return.

There is a problem, though, and it is the site's own. Its promotions page advertises something different: a £100 Welcome Package plus 50 free spins, with no terms published beside it. So the offers page and the small print describe two different welcome offers and the site reconciles them nowhere. Whichever you are shown, get the terms on screen before you deposit and check the spin value and the count against what you were promised.

Promotions

Beyond the welcome offer this is a quiet site, and the offers that exist tend to carry the same restrictive conditions as the one that brought you in, so read each before opting in.

The ongoing list is short but it exists: Daily Picks, which put an offer in your account each time you log in, a Prize Twister, and deposit offers that pay spins or credit when you meet a requirement.

The VIP Club is the substantial one. Points come from every pound staked, weighted by game, so slots earn more than tables and the tables themselves are weighted against each other. Each level you clear pays a bonus. It is the usual arrangement and the usual warning applies: the rewards only outrun the staking at levels most people should not be trying to reach.

Games

The lobby is conventional in the best sense: the games British players actually look for, from the studios they know. NetEnt, Play'n GO and Blueprint Gaming carry most of it, and the shelf includes Book of Dead, Big Bass Bonanza, Dynamite Riches and Fluffy Favourites. There is a dedicated jackpot section with the progressive systems that run across several titles.

Around the slots sit card games, video poker and a live casino, all playable in a mobile browser without an app. Nothing here is exclusive and nothing here is missing, which is a fair summary of the whole site.

What the lobby does not do is help you find anything. There are no filters worth the name beyond the broad categories, so a search for a particular mechanic or feature means scrolling. On a catalogue this size that is a daily irritation rather than a one off one.

Depositing and Withdrawing

The minimum deposit is £10. Debit cards from Visa and Mastercard are accepted alongside Neteller, Skrill and Paysafecard, and PayPal works even though it has not always appeared on the published list. The site claims more than 20 payment solutions in total, most of which are for other markets.

The minimum withdrawal is £20, which is worth knowing when the minimum deposit is half that: a £15 balance has to grow before you can take it out. Payouts take a day or two depending on the method.

Customer Support

Email and live chat, and the agents have been helpful and quick whenever I have used them.

One thing to note, because it took me by surprise. There is a Complaints link in the footer, and the page behind it does not set out a complaints procedure: it points you at regulatory bodies and third party sites instead. If something goes wrong, your first step is ordinary support, and the escalation route is the licence rather than anything the casino publishes.

Review Summary

Three stars, unchanged. The Mega Spins are a genuinely good idea and I wish more operators copied them, because £1 spins on a decent slot beat 10p spins by a distance even when the headline number is smaller.

What keeps the score down is everything around them. The offers page and the terms describe different welcome offers, which is careless on the one page a new player reads most closely. The design is so plain that finding information is harder than it should be, and the information pages are the worst of it. The minimum withdrawal is double the minimum deposit. And the complaints page does not do what its name promises.

The games are good, the jackpots are real and the payment list is long. If you join, join for the spin value, and read the terms on screen rather than the banner above them.

Pros

  • Spins Worth £1 Each
  • Real Jackpot Section
  • VIP Club Pays Per Level
  • Long Payment List
  • 10x Wagering

Cons

  • Offer Page Contradicts Terms
  • £20 Minimum Withdrawal
  • Very Plain Design
  • No Complaints Procedure
