Fortune Games goes for Irish luck, by which I mean everything is green and there are rainbows. It is an evergreen sort of casino: nothing about it is fashionable, nothing about it will date either, and it has been quietly doing the same thing for years.

The licence belongs to Jumpman Gaming Limited, account 39175 in Alderney. What makes this one worth singling out is the welcome offer, which is the most generous structure on the whole network and one of the few that tells you the numbers up front.

Welcome offer

225 free spins on Big Bass Bonanza, spread across your first three deposits: 50 on the first, 75 on the second, 100 on the third. The spins are assigned automatically, each deposit needs to be at least £10, and the promotion requires the code FORTUNE2K on your first ever deposit.

This is a considerably better proposition than a prize wheel, because every number in it is fixed. You know what three deposits of £10 buys you before you make the first one. Wagering is 10x on the bonus, and the terms quote a £2,000 maximum bonus, which is a ceiling you are extremely unlikely to approach given the conversion cap described below.

The one thing to be clear-eyed about: this is a three-deposit offer. Take the first 50 spins and stop, and you have taken a third of what was advertised.

Other promotions and the trophy system

There is a trophy system that unlocks as you play and gives the account a sense of progress beyond the balance, plus the loyalty offers the network runs everywhere: a Daily Wheel every 24 hours, monthly cash giveaways with entries earned by wagering on a named game, and a Turbo Reel on larger deposits.

Slots and bingo

Slots and bingo rooms from the platform's shared suppliers, working properly on a phone. Nothing exclusive, but the range covers what people look for.

How far a bonus can go

Ten times wagering is the legal maximum in Britain, so that part is unremarkable. The clause worth finding is the conversion limit.

Bonus money cannot be withdrawn as it stands. Once the wagering is satisfied it becomes real money only as far as your deposits over the life of the account allow, to a hard ceiling of £250. A large advertised bonus and a small deposit do not meet in the middle.

Money in, money out

This is platform policy rather than brand policy, and worth reading before you deposit anywhere on the network.

Minimum deposit £10, through Visa Debit, Mastercard Debit, Maestro, Paysafe, PayPal, Neteller or Skrill. Three cards maximum, all in your own name, and Pay by Mobile costs £2.50 per transaction.

Withdrawals clear a pending period and then one to five working days. The first needs approved identification, and if the documents are rejected the money goes back to your balance within 48 hours. The £2.50 withdrawal fee that used to sit here is gone.

A note on Pay by Mobile, which I would still avoid. It carries a £2.50 transaction fee when free methods sit directly beside it in the cashier. The withdrawal fee I used to criticise, on the other hand, has gone from the banking policy entirely.

Two things to expect at the cashier

First, a prompt inviting you to play with money you have already asked to withdraw rather than depositing more. Reverse withdrawals have been banned since October 2021 and this is not one, but it is aimed at the same instinct, and the answer should be no.

Second, the terms suspend promotions for as long as a withdrawal is pending and do not backdate them once it completes, so requesting payment means forgoing the offer you would have had.

The enforcement history

Jumpman Gaming paid £500,000 in lieu of a financial penalty, along with £13,594.30 in costs, after a Gambling Commission investigation announced on 17 May 2022 into anti-money laundering and social responsibility failings.

Among the findings: customers able to deposit and lose more than the average UK income before a meaningful review took place, and able to keep going at pace; and customers with accounts at multiple Jumpman brands getting around the controls meant to stop exactly that. The brands look separate. The operator behind them is not.

Worth doing before you deposit

Upload your identification documents at registration rather than waiting until you want paying, because a first withdrawal is held until they are approved and a rejection returns your money to a spendable balance. Take a screenshot of the promotion you are claiming, as the terms are not archived and do change. And read the conversion cap before the wagering requirement: it is the number that decides what an offer can actually pay you.

Fortune Games review summary

Three out of five. The welcome offer is the best-structured on this platform and the trophies give you something to chase, and neither is enough to lift it past the term underneath.

A bonus converts into real money only as far as your lifetime deposits reach, capped at £250. Spread across three deposits of £10 that ceiling is £30 until you pay in more, which is worth understanding before the 225 spins persuade you. A payout waits out a pending period and then one to five working days. The withdrawal fee has gone, which is why the score holds.

Fortune Games is flawed in all the ways its siblings are flawed, and something still brings me back to it. It is the pizza shop number I keep in my phone: not the best meal in town, but reliably there when the places I would rather go are shut.
