Duelz Casino

The first time I came across this casino I assumed the name was a coincidence. I had just reviewed its sister site and written at length about a feature called Duelz, where players take each other on for rewards. Then I saw the same operator's name on both and the coincidence evaporated.

The logo and the whole look appear to have been plucked from a mobile strategy game, all comic panels and bold type, and I did not like it at all to begin with. It grew on me. The style is doing something, which is more than can be said for the identical dark-blue lobbies most casinos settle for.

The operator is SuprPlay Limited, licensed in Great Britain by the Gambling Commission under account 48695, part of the SuprNation group that has run casinos since 2015 and also holds Maltese and Swedish licences.

Welcome Offer

The offer runs across a week rather than landing in one go, and the site publishes it like this:

Significant Terms: Welcome offer for new players residing in Great Britain only. Opt in and deposit £25 for the first time to get up to 140 free spins, 20 free spins per day for 7 consecutive days on selected games. Free spins must be manually claimed each day via the pop-up. Unclaimed spins expire at midnight and do not roll over. Once claimed, free spins expire after 3 days. Free spin value £0.10. Maximum free spins winnings £100 per day. Winnings from free spins are credited as bonus money, subject to a 10x wagering requirement, and expire after 7 days if the wagering requirement is not met. Own payment methods only.

The words to weigh are the ones that say up to. You get the full 140 only by logging in on 7 days running and claiming each batch from the pop-up. Skip a day and those 20 spins expire at midnight, and they do not roll into tomorrow. The rest of the week still stands, so one missed evening costs you 20 spins rather than the lot.

At 10p a spin the full set is worth £14 in stake against a £25 deposit, so this is not an offer that hands back more than you put in. What it does do is cap wagering at 10x, the most the rules now allow, and apply it only to what the spins win rather than to your own money. The catch is that spin winnings arrive as bonus money rather than cash, and that bonus disappears after 7 days if the wagering is not cleared.

Promotions

The ongoing side works hard, though I marginally prefer its sister site's version of it.

There are league leaderboards paying the biggest players, cashback offers, daily free spins and a steady supply of Drops and Wins jackpot campaigns, with other offers appearing through the week. The promotions page is worth opening before you deposit rather than after, because what is running changes often enough to matter.

The duelling feature the site is named after is the distinctive part: you take on another player at whatever stake you like, both of you start with health points, and winning games does damage until somebody wins the duel and the reward.

Games

There are over 1,000 games and the roster is largely the same as the sister site's, with a few additions of its own. Duelz 3x1 is the one worth naming, an exclusive and one of the more genuinely unusual titles you will find in any lobby.

Around the slots sit jackpot games, a busy live casino and a modest set of virtual tables, all of it playable on a phone. Bingo is almost absent: there is a single bingo game here, so if you want bingo and slots under one roof this is not the site for it.

Depositing and Withdrawing

The minimum deposit is £25, which is where the welcome offer sets the bar. Visa and Mastercard debit cards, PayPal, Skrill and Neteller are all accepted, deposits are instant and the site states most withdrawals are completed within 24 hours, with no fees either way. The offer requires your own payment method, so a card in another name will not qualify.

One thing I would flag from reading what other players have written. A recurring complaint about this site concerns verification being slow and awkward rather than anything to do with payouts. I could not reproduce it: my own checks cleared without fuss, and most of those complaints are some years old now, from a period plenty of casinos have since improved out of.

It is still worth acting on. Get verified before you deposit rather than after, so that if the checks do stall you can play somewhere else in the meantime instead of waiting with money in the account.

Customer Support

Live chat, stated as open 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, and the group makes a point of saying it is staffed by people rather than a bot. The same old complaints touched support as well as verification, and again I had no trouble.

Review Summary

This site looks good, plays well and offers more than most. The exclusive game is a real one, the duels are unlike anything else, the promotions keep coming and the money moves quickly.

Four stars, and I would give it 4.5 if the scale allowed. What holds it back is the welcome offer: £25 is a high bar, £14 of spin value is less than the deposit that unlocks it, the spins have to be collected by hand on 7 consecutive days, and the winnings come as bonus money on a short fuse.

The old complaints about verification are the other reason I stop short of full marks, not because I hit them, but because enough people reported them that it is worth getting your documents in early.
