Double Bubble is a slot you have almost certainly met somewhere, and in 2021 it was given its own bingo site. The brand was voted best new bingo site at the WhichBingo awards the following year, which is a decent start for a theme that is mostly a colour.

And it is a colour. There is a great deal of pink here and all of it is bubblegummy. I am sure there is a proper name for this sort of peppy, sugary aesthetic, but bubblegummy will do and nothing on the site argues with it.

The operator is Gamesys Operations Limited of Suite 2, Floor 4, Waterport Place, Gibraltar, licensed in Great Britain by the Gambling Commission under account 38905 and by the Government of Gibraltar under RGL 46. The theme is sweet; the company behind it is one of the largest in the market.

Welcome Offer

New players choose one of two offers, and both ask for the same £10.

Significant Terms: Play £10, get £25 free bingo. New members only, must opt in. Not valid with other Welcome Offer(s). Min £10 deposit and £10 wager on bingo. 30 day expiry from deposit.

Significant Terms: Play £10, get 30 free spins on Double Bubble Cash Wall. New members only, must opt in. Not valid with other Welcome Offer(s). Min £10 deposit and £10 wager on slots game(s). 30 day expiry from deposit.

Note the shape of both. The £10 is not a deposit alone: you have to stake it on the right category of game, bingo for the bingo offer and slots for the spins, and you have 30 days from the deposit to do it. Once the spins arrive you get another 30 days to use them.

The bingo side comes with a caveat the headline does not mention. It is advertised as £25 of free bingo and delivered as 25 free tickets, which is only worth £25 if you spend them on games whose tickets cost £1. Play them on penny rooms and the same reward is worth a fraction of that. Nothing dishonest is happening, but the headline figure is a ceiling rather than a value, and getting near it means choosing where you spend them.

Promotions

Loyalty is this site's weak spot, and the terms show why.

The main ongoing offer is the Bubble-O-Meter, a reward wheel that runs in weekly rounds from midnight on Monday to 11:59pm on Sunday. It is invitation only. You need to have deposited and wagered at least 7 days before opting in, and then each wheel is unlocked by a specified wager set by your level, with those wagers running from £10 to £1,000. Prizes range from 5p to £60, up to 4 wheels a week.

A £1,000 stake to unlock a wheel that might pay 5p is a thin proposition, and beyond that wheel and the occasional seasonal promotion there is not a great deal going on. If a steady diet of reload offers is what keeps you at a bingo site, this is not the one.

Bingo Rooms and Games

The bingo itself is better than the promotions around it. The site lists 33 bingo rooms covering 75-ball and 90-ball games, including Bubble Up Bingo, which is exclusive to the brand, along with Candy Club Bingo, Coffee Shop Bingo, Bingo 80, Bingo Times, Diamond Deal and daily and weekly Winners Club games. Tickets start at a few pence.

On the slots side there are 340 titles, which is a proper lobby rather than a token one, and 8 of them are Double Bubble games: the original, Fizz, Jackpot, Jackpot Splash, Triple Jackpot, Megaways, Bouncy Bubbles and Cash Wall, the one the free spins are tied to. If the series is why you are here, that is the full set.

Around them sit 34 casino tables, 30 live dealer games, 21 Slingo titles and 19 arcade and instant win games, plus scratchcards. It is a broader site than the bingo-first branding suggests, and the old figure of 400 games has been comfortably passed.

Depositing and Withdrawing

The minimum deposit is £10, the same figure the promotions are built on. The cashier takes Visa and Mastercard debit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay, and the site carries a fast withdrawals badge without publishing the times behind it. One small trap in the refer-a-friend terms: a referred friend cannot use a Paysafe card as their payment method at any point.

Verification was painless when I joined. Details were checked against existing records and nothing further was asked for, which is how it should work when your credit history is unremarkable. If the checks do not clear automatically you will be asked for identity documents, which is the same at every licensed site.

Customer Support

This is the problem. The site says its team is there whatever the time of day, then gives an email address as the route to them and states that replies are targeted within 5 working days. Five working days is a week. For a question about a bonus that expires in 30 days, or money that has not arrived, that is not support in any useful sense.

There is a thorough FAQ section, and it will answer most ordinary questions. It is the unordinary ones that worry me.

Review Summary

The bones here are good. A choice of two welcome offers is more than most sites give you, 33 bingo rooms and 340 slots is a real lobby, the exclusive Bubble Up Bingo is a genuine draw, and the operator has the scale to run all of it properly.

Three stars, held down by three things. The free bingo headline is a ceiling and not a value. The loyalty wheel is invite only and can ask for a £1,000 stake to unlock a 5p prize. And a 5 working day target on email, with no quicker route published, is the wrong answer for anything that actually needs answering.

If you like the games and the colour does not put you off, it is worth joining for the welcome offer. Just do not expect much to happen after it.
