For a site called Bingo Aliens I saw remarkably few aliens. There is a logo and then the theme gives up, leaving a site as generic as the rest of the platform it sits on. If you are choosing between sibling brands on the strength of the decoration, choose a different one.

Choose this one for the promotions, which are the best argument it has. It runs on the Jumpman Gaming platform under licence 39175, held by Jumpman Gaming Limited in Alderney, and I would argue that sites on this network have some of the better loyalty offers going.

Welcome offer

Fund the account with £10 and you are in the running for up to 500 free spins on Fluffy Favourites. The award is randomised rather than fixed, which is the platform's standard approach.

Read the number as a ceiling rather than a promise. The weighting favours the small prizes, so work out whether the smallest is worth your £10 and treat the rest as luck. Wagering is 10x on whatever arrives.

Other promotions, and the giveaways

This is where the site earns its score. Alongside the loyalty scheme and a Daily Wheel giving a free spin every 24 hours, there are regular prize giveaways, and the prizes have historically been real objects rather than bonus funds. When I last looked closely the current draw was for VR headsets, and over the years I have seen iPhones, designer clothing and holidays go through the same mechanism.

Entries are earned by wagering on a named game, and the draws rotate monthly. Check the page at the start of each month, because nothing archives a promotion's terms once they have changed.

Bingo rooms and slots

Both, in decent quantity, from the suppliers shared across the platform. The bingo is not the best I have played and the rooms are not exclusive to this brand, but the selection is genuinely good and the slots catalogue covers everything people actually search for. PayPal is accepted.

How far a bonus can go

Ten times wagering is the legal maximum in Britain, so that part is unremarkable. The clause worth finding is the conversion limit.

Bonus money cannot be withdrawn as it stands. Once the wagering is satisfied it becomes real money only as far as your deposits over the life of the account allow, to a hard ceiling of £250. A large advertised bonus and a small deposit do not meet in the middle.

Money in, money out

This is platform policy rather than brand policy, and worth reading before you deposit anywhere on the network.

Minimum deposit £10, through Visa Debit, Mastercard Debit, Maestro, Paysafe, PayPal, Neteller or Skrill. Three cards maximum, all in your own name, and Pay by Mobile costs £2.50 per transaction.

Withdrawals clear a pending period and then one to five working days. The first needs approved identification, and if the documents are rejected the money goes back to your balance within 48 hours. The £2.50 withdrawal fee that used to sit here is gone.

One correction to my own older verdict, and it matters because it was my loudest complaint. The £2.50 withdrawal fee is no longer in the banking policy. Pay by Mobile deposits still carry £2.50, so the charge has moved rather than disappeared, but the thing that used to punish you for taking your own money out has gone.

Two things to expect at the cashier

First, a prompt inviting you to play with money you have already asked to withdraw rather than depositing more. Reverse withdrawals have been banned since October 2021 and this is not one, but it is aimed at the same instinct, and the answer should be no.

Second, the terms suspend promotions for as long as a withdrawal is pending and do not backdate them once it completes, so requesting payment means forgoing the offer you would have had.

The enforcement history

Jumpman Gaming paid £500,000 in lieu of a financial penalty, along with £13,594.30 in costs, after a Gambling Commission investigation announced on 17 May 2022 into anti-money laundering and social responsibility failings.

Among the findings: customers able to deposit and lose more than the average UK income before a meaningful review took place, and able to keep going at pace; and customers with accounts at multiple Jumpman brands getting around the controls meant to stop exactly that. The brands look separate. The operator behind them is not.

Bingo Aliens review summary

Four out of five, which is a point above most of its siblings, and the giveaways are the reason. Being in a monthly draw for a physical prize is worth more to me than another reload bonus, and very few operators at this end of the market bother with it.

It is not a five, and the reason is the same as everywhere on this platform. A bonus converts into withdrawable money only as far as your lifetime deposits reach, capped at £250, which means the value of an offer is decided by your own spending. A payout waits out a pending period and then one to five working days, and requesting one suspends your promotions until it lands. The withdrawal fee I marked it down for previously has at least gone.

It suits a regular player who likes the idea of winning a television rather than a tenner. It suits you less if you wanted the theme to mean something.
