Bingo Paradise Rating

I recently reviewed Mecca Bingo and give it the full 5 stars, noting how it backed up its impressive reputation with great games, a clean layout, and some solid bonuses. It’s known for its bingo rooms, so it was no surprise that it excelled in this area, but what about its attempt at an online casino? Mecca Games has a similar style and layout as its sister site, but the bingo rooms have been swapped for popular slot machines and jackpot games.

So, how does it compare?

Welcome Bonuses

New players at Mecca Games can collect a bonus of up to £40 and 50 free spins when they deposit at least £10. The bonus credits are only available on select games, including Rainbow Riches and Cleopatra, and there is a wagering requirement of 30x. As for the free spins, they are fixed to the Fishin’ Frenzy slot machine and come with a 10x wagering requirement.

Only when these requirements have been met can you withdraw your winnings from the bonus.

A 5x max conversion applies, which means you can’t win and withdraw more than £200. It’s not ideal, but most players are happy with any kind of return from a welcome bonus so getting anywhere near that limit would be a massive positive.

Mecca Games has a few daily promotions that all players can take advantage of. These include a daily bonus wheel with up to £100 on offer for players depositing £30 or more (15x wagering requirement; 5x max conversion),

Games and Software

There is a large selection of games, most of which are classic arcade slot machines from the likes of Microgaming. There are a few category options to help you sort through these, but not enough, and as is often the case, I just found myself scrolling through endless thumbnails to find something that looked different.

There are sections for “Top UK Games” and even a “Game of the Month”. But as is often the case, these games are ones you will have seen and played countless times over. If you haven’t played Starburst or Rainbow Riches, you’re in a very small minority, so these sections don’t really do much for experienced players seeking something unique.

The inclusion of Microgaming means it has jackpot games like Mega Moolah, and these are further improved by the addition of the Jackpot King system from Blueprint Gaming, a top developer responsible for titles like Eye of Horus and Ted. These games have combined jackpots worth millions, and as the seed amounts are high, there’s always a life-changing sum of money waiting to be won.

All games are mobile friendly and new titles are added on a regular basis. Megaways fans are well catered for and the site includes slots with features such as Epic Strike, Hold and Win, and Cascading Reels. It would have been nice to see these bundled into their own categories, but I’ve made the same complaint about most casinos, so it’s definitely not limited to Mecca Games.

Banking Options

Mecca Games accepts a few different deposit options: Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, and Paysafecard. With the exception of Paysafecard—which is a type of voucher-based payment method—these can also be used for withdrawals. The minimum deposit and withdrawal amount is £10 and most withdrawals are processed quickly, although you may need to wait 1 to 3 days for Mastercard and Visa.

There is a dedicated live chat facility if you have any issues with depositing or withdrawing, but it’s not available 24/7. You can also search the FAQ, send them a message through the site’s contact form, or call them toll-free on 0800 901 2179. As a member of the Independent Betting Adjudication Service (IBAS), filing complaints is easy and there’s always someone there to listen and act as a mediator.

Verdict: Mecca Games Review

I really liked Mecca Bingo and thought it had a lot to offer, including some unique games and an interesting layout. I can’t really say the same for Mecca Games though. It feels too standard, too boring, too “been there, seen that”. It’s a big brand, so I was expecting more than the usual selection of slots and a handful of bonuses.

I would have also preferred if the site didn’t focus heavily on slots from NetEnt, Microgaming, and Slingo, as that’s largely where it falls flat and begins to look a little too generic.

Putting these issues aside, it’s easy to use, has a big welcome bonus, and some solid loyalty promotions. What’s more, if you’re a fan of Microgaming or you like playing the classics, you’re not going to have an issue with the gaming selection.

Ultimately, I don’t think that Mecca Games deserves the same flawless rating as its sister site, but it would be overly harsh to rate it anything less than 4/5.

Mecca Games FAQ

  • How Do I Contact Mecca Games?

The best way to contact them is via live chat or phone. You can access the former directly on the website and it’s available to both members and non-members. As for the latter, just dial 0800 901 2179 toll-free. I wouldn’t recommend the contact form, as it states that it could take several days to get a response.

  • What is the Wagering Requirement?

It varies on the bonus and whether you collect credits or free spins. For the welcome bonus mentioned in the above review, it’s set at 10x for the free spins and 30x for the bonus credits.

  • Can I Play Mecca Games on Mobile?

Yes, there is a downloadable mobile app. I tried both the app and the desktop site for the above review and while I usually play on desktop, I much preferred the app. It was more intuitive while the desktop version felt a little plain.

  • Who Owns Mecca Games?

Mecca Games is owned by Rank Interactive, a parent company that runs a number of gambling sites and is based in Gibraltar, where it also holds a license.
