The historical city of York has a population of over 200,000 people and is home to several major bingo clubs. Mecca Bingo York is probably the biggest and most popular with the site offering a massive entertainment complex. There is absolutely loads to do at this Mecca York so we’ve listed some more information on this bingo hall for those who are perhaps considering paying it a visit.
You will find this Mecca complex on Fishergate and it has been recently rebuilt into a modern hub, replacing the previous venue which was an old cinema on the same site. There are plenty of bus routes and the complex is within walking distance of railway station so there really is plenty of ways to get there!
The Mecca York complex is open 7 days a week so you really do have plenty of chances to pay the bingo hall a visit. There are bingo games all throughout the day and generally, the earliest you can play is around 11:30am for the Morning Session available Saturday only. However, most of the time you will be able to play games from midday onwards. The bingo day at Mecca York is generally split into afternoon and evening sessions.
The afternoon sessions tend to begin at 1pm and offer games every half hour until 3pm. Then the evening session will begin and games will begin at 7pm and last every half hour until just after 9pm in the majority of cases. As you can see, there are plenty of games to play no matter what point of the week that it is.
There is quite a variation when it comes to the cost of bingo tickets. Generally, the tickets cost around £1 for most games but other games may cost anywhere between £2-5. However, there are also some more premium games which can cost anywhere from £6 upwards. Weekend main sessions can even cost over £10 but the prizes will be much larger so certainly try out these games if you want to play for the biggest prizes.
As we mentioned Mecca York has been rebuilt so you can expect a complex with some top-notch facilities. There is, of course, a bar with plenty of cocktail choices but also a diner with a great menu and plenty of electronic games including slot machines. There is disabled access and also a cash machine available as well. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly and are there to make your experience a positive one.
The complex is open from 11am on Saturday but every other day it will open at 12pm. Mecca Bingo York is open every day until 12am. The car park has a 900 capacity but is still very busy especially on the weekends. There is also fundraising for local charities at this club with charity collectors often situated inside the complex. If you’re planning on visiting then you can also check out the packages that can be booked on the Mecca Bingo website.
